“What’s going on? Where are all the men?”
“It’s too hard to explain.”

The Feminine, a speculative drama, is the story of a new world order.
When Adam Cooper, an English Teacher at a prestigious girl’s school, is diagnosed with testicular cancer he thinks his life is over. A new treatment, however, gives him hope and he willingly undergoes it. But there are complications.

In fifteen years he wakes from a coma.
In fifteen years the world has changed dramatically.
In fifteen years Adam’s masculinity will have him hiding for his life.

The Feminine will be performed by Glen Pickering (Based on Auckland, ‘Tis Pity she’s a whore), Nisha Madhan (Shortland Street, Shakespeare UnBarred), Beth Allen (Outrageous Fortune, The Tribe), Todd Emerson (The World’s fastest Indian, Amazing Extraordinary Friends) and Christabel Smith (Caustic, OSS The Merchant of Venice).

Happy Hoya

hoya.jpg

One of the new developments at home, I recently transplanted this hoya that I had growing in a pot into a hanging container.  It’s obviously much happier and this is the first time it has flowered since I have had it…  very exciting.

And the next big thing, my lovely little pitcher plant has a nice new flower too, much bigger than last year’s one, take a look here, it flowered in April of last year.

And the starfish just keep on going…

November 8th, 2007

So far for the cushionstar mobile I have thirteen starfish, and four more near completion, I have about a gazzilion colours to choose from, as far as the felt goes, and so things have been getting a bit out of hand.  I am fast using up my beads as well!

Here are some recent photos…

I do like the undersides of these little ones.

And of course, after a few starfish I wanted to try a little seadollar, a little tricky as far as creating the segments, or the appearance of there being segments, but overall it came out ok.

An old flatmate had this cute little parcel sent to us a week ago - just so cute I have to post a photo, or two!

new booties

November 8th, 2007

I started out making these little baskets out of this ball of course string that I had around, they are really fun and quite easy to make, not quite as soft as wool or acrylic yarns.

Then I decided to try out the pattern for these little booties for the baby, they are made from this lovely soft cotton that I picked up at an op shop a while ago - not quite enough for a whole outfit, but enough for a few little pairs of shoes.  Next I’m making some knitted slippers, quite a different look and shape to these…
