At our meeting a couple of weeks some crazy person started to go on about Tasers after reading this article in the Dominion Post…  and so now I have to come up with some kind of Taser of the future!

  • Key prop for each world, assisted by lighting, sound?
  • Streetlamp, vase of dead flowers to indicate suburban home environment
  • Table and chairs for interiors
  • Wheelie bed/cot for hospital scene?
  • Desert, badlands, weird plant, tree type thing (using branches or tree like structure draped with string, thread and spray painted..?
  • car/wagon?

Publicity

  • Old school science fiction film poster?
  • Old school science fiction comic book/zine?
Because the world of caustic is futuristic and fanciful, illustrated poster may be a good option, and the imagery could be applied universally to most marketing material – posters invites/flyers/program. Maybe something people want to keep? Fold out poster? Like appliance magazine, or the ARTSPACE poster invites they produce.

I’m thinking Edward Scissorhands meets Bladerunner meets Startrek.

Science fiction from the 50 and 60s… and the American Dream, the happy suburban family.

…and of course everything red, white and black.
